The NOVEx explosion isolation flap valve effectively stops the spread of explosions in ducts, protecting the rest of the equipment in the installation.
In normal operation, the flap remains open, minimizing pressure loss and maintaining system performance. In the event of an explosion downstream (e.g. in a filter) there is an expansion of the combustion gases and an overpressure that will push the flapper, closing and creating a barrier that isolates and protects the rest of the equipment in the upstream installation.
