Adix Engineering's new NOVEx II flap valve for explosion isolation

With a more compact and lightweight design making it easier to install and maintain, the new NOVEx II valve from Adix Ingeniería comes with a large number of implementations and improvements for use in installations with ATEX environments.

Designed, tested and certified according to European standards EN 16447 and EN 15089, simulating real installation conditions with duct on the protected side, curves, air flow, vertical or horizontal installation… The new Adix NOVEx II flap valve also meets the requirements of the NFPA 69 standard.

Its features include:

  • Flap open during normal operation.
  • Vertical installation position, allowing installation from 0 to 90º.
  • Push and pull position.
  • Tests of automatic activation of the valve by the pressure of the explosion.
  • Valve installed in double elbow ducts.
  • Size tested up to DN 1250 mm pipes.
  • Flammable powder up to St3.
  • Dome flap without external reinforcements.
  • External mechanical lid position indicator.
  • Special design to prevent dust accumulation on the flapper.

All tests were performed with a pipe installed after the valve.

Wide range of sizes

The NOVEx II flap valve is applicable to a wide range of pipe diameters, from DN 100 (4″) to DN 1250 (50″), covering a wide spectrum of installation types without the need for coupling processes.

The NOVEx II is built and designed for a reduced explosion overpressure of a maximum value of 1 barg up to DN 500 diameter, and 0.5 barg for larger diameters, measured by overpressure in the tank where the explosion occurs. Designed for use in association with reusable or non-reusable explosion vent vessels.

Applicable to installations with all types of dust

Certified for all types of flammable dust: metallic, organic and non-organic. In addition, it has the following features.

  • max. kSt: 305 bar·m/s
  • min. kSt: no limits
  • Pmax: 9.5 bar
  • Concentration limit of flammable dust in the duct: 500 g/m3

Complement your NOVEx II and adapt it to your needs. The new Adix flap valve can be customized to achieve the configuration your equipment needs. It has numerous optional accessories:

  • Flap position detector (open or closed).
  • Dust accumulation detector on the equipment.
