SparkCatch

The ADIX SparkCatch is a passive explosion prevention device designed for industrial dust collection systems. It acts as ignition source isolation in accordance with NFPA 69 – Standard on Explosion Prevention Systems, reducing the risk of downstream ignition and improving overall system safety.

The ADIX SparkCatch is a passive explosion prevention device designed for industrial dust collection systems. It acts as ignition source isolation in accordance with NFPA 69 – Standard on Explosion Prevention Systems, reducing the risk of downstream ignition and improving overall system safety.

Its internal cyclonic design diverts the airflow and forces sparks to travel a longer path, losing speed and temperature until they are extinguished before reaching the dust collector or critical areas of the process. It is an inline spark arrestor that is easy to specify, install, use and maintain.

  • Particle type: all types of particles and fumes
  • Material: carbon steel painted RAL 3020; optional AISI 304 | AISI 316 stainless steel
  • Flange: per DIN 24154/R2, T2
  • Installation: horizontal
  • Air velocity: 2,360 to 7,870 ft/min (12 to 40 m/s) (positive and negative pressure)
  • Operating pressure: -5.8 psig to < +7.3 psig (-400 mbar to < +500 mbar) (contact Adix for higher pressures)
  • Estimated pressure drop: 3.6–4.0 inWC (900–1000 Pa) at 3,940 ft/min (20 m/s)
  • Operating temperature: -4 °F (-20 °C) (make sure the product does not freeze) to +194 °F (+90 °C)
  • Spark mitigation efficiency: > 98% under standard conditions
